Since 1985, Larry Cash has conducted six major research projects to validate the accuracy of the Pathfinder:

• a sample of approximately 700 individuals seeking career counseling correlated the Pathfinder results with 15 other well-established psychological and career interest tests.
• a sample of 328 individuals compared the Pathfinder results with four well validated interest inventories.
• a sample of 1,777 individuals with management experience helped develop job profiles for business clients in organizational settings. Over 100 smaller studies created profiles in 35 basic career themes.
• a sample of 207 pharmaceutical personnel validated the Pathfinder's capacity to predict employee performance in Sales, Marketing and Sales management roles.
• a sample of 793 individuals in 31 occupational groups determined the Pathfinder's capacity to identify job-specific occupational groups.
